Ella Shaw’s Academy of Arts is not only a performing arts school but a family, determined to nurture and guide the future generation of its community. With masterclasses and tutoring from industry professionals, classes are filled with singing, dancing and drama but also encouragement of self-confidence, self-belief, social skills and so much more.

Together with The Grand Venue Clitheroe the academy brings a passion for health and well-being and offer a safe place for children to express themselves and have a great time while learning new skills.

Classes are a mix of each performing arts discipline and every term work towards performances, showcases and incredible industry opportunities.

Musical Productions: 4.30-6.30pm 
Secondary Performers 10-18 years: 6.30-8pm
WEDNESDAYS:
Primary Performers 4-10 years: 4.30-5.30pm
SATURDAYS:
Class One 4-7 years // 9am – 10am
Class Two 7-10 years // 10am – 11am
Class Three 10+ years // 11am – 1:30pm
PRIVATE TUITION:
Monday-Thursday: 4-9pm

Meet The Tutors

Miss Ella Shaw

Most known for her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, Ella has had an extensive career in the music industry already for somebody so young. She has taken to the stage for audience as big as 21 thousand, released a debut album and supported stars as big as Olly Murs, The Wanted, Rudimental plus so much more. For the past seven years Ella has taught hundreds young people and is dedicated to guiding and developing their voices. 

She has a key focus of how the body supports the voice but also brings out the best of a performer and builds their confidence. With her extensive list of contacts in the industry and great experience, Ella Shaw is so excited to be working with The Grand venue to open doors for more young talented people.

Miss Grace Barratt

At the age of 16 Grace successfully auditioned for the Italia Conti Academy of performing arts (London) against thousands of applicants then continued her vocational training in musical theatre and graduated with a level 6 diploma in musical theatre and BTEC distinction star in performing arts. Professionally she has performed on; Got to dance, The One Show, Dance world cup-Paris, Dance World Cup-Sardinia and supporting actor in a short film.

She has also had the privilege of working alongside various choreographers such as; Earlene Phillips, Mark Webb, Richard Peakman, Gregory Apostolidis and West End actors such as Craig Scott, David Willoughby, Mark Turnbull, Lisa Turner, Jayne Draper along with live performances in many amazing venues such as the Westminster Abby.

Miss Kathryn Maye-Cavaleri

After graduating from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Kathryn has worked extensively within the world of Performing Arts as a performer, choreographer and director. Kathryn has appeared in an online drama and has supported film and television students from a range of universities producing new film work.

She has many years of experience has been head drama coach at the academy for 5 years, more recently directing our Musical Production class that will be producing a full musical production every summer.

Miss Georgia Walker-Carter

Georgia has experience in various dance styles and was part of ‘Street Feet’ at our home – The Grand Venue when she was younger. She started singing from the age of 10 and performs locally at weddings, restaurants and after gaining a degree in a performing arts, went on to be an entertainment host for P&O cruises. 

She is now pursuing her career in teaching – specialising in drama and assisting at our classes. 

Miss Sarah Hodkinson, Teaching Assistant

Sarah, now 19, was one of the very first students at ESAA back when it opened in 2019. She has returned to now assists at the academy’s ever-growing performing arts classes, enabling her to continue her love for the arts and passion for working with young people. She is a bubbly enthusiastic new addition to the team and excited to be stepping into her new role.

Miss Sarah Holden, Teaching & Admin Assistant

Sarah 21, recently trained and graduated from Phil Winston’s theatre works. She is an extremely talented professionally trained performer and qualified dance teacher assisting with our musical productions. Most of the academy’s enquiries are now also dealt with by Sarah, as she assists with the day in day out running of the academy as it continues to grow.
